Denis Zoi: A Young Entrepreneur Leading Techi sh.p.k to Success

Denis Zoi, not yet 30 years old, is already a successful entrepreneur. He founded a company that has grown rapidly within three years and continues to expand, as Denis has clear goals and ideas about where he wants to take it.

His background in physics and mathematics is the foundation of a strong logic that defines him. When combined with his passion for technology, it yields undeniable results.

“Mathematics has fascinated me since the first grade, followed by physics. My inclination toward these subjects led me to pursue higher education in Physical Engineering. Being a scientific field, it allowed me to also study information technology, which is where my passion for technology began,” says Denis.

After completing his studies at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, he started working for an Internet service provider in Durrës. Within a short time, he became the company’s technical director. Seeking more challenges, he joined the maritime administration, where he worked for a year. It was during this time that the idea of building a business based on IT services was born and strengthened.

In collaboration with his partner, Mario Lika, who is now the company’s CTO, he founded Techi sh.p.k in October 2017. Like many young entrepreneurs, they faced challenges and doubts about success, but today they have a team of professionals and a satisfied client portfolio.

Can you tell us how many clients you have?

We manage and support about 70 clients with IT services daily. These clients come from various sectors including HoReCa, retail, industry, and services. We started with small steps in hospitality and different businesses in Durrës, gradually expanding to other cities in Albania like Tirana, Fier, Gjirokastër, Saranda, and more. Today, we are capable of delivering Techi’s IT services across the entire territory of Albania, and potentially beyond.

What does your service consist of?

Techi operates as an external IT department, providing IT services for all categories of businesses. Let’s face it, technology plays a huge role in the smooth running of businesses today. The goal of Techi’s managed services is to reduce downtime caused by IT issues.

To achieve this, we follow five rigorous steps: consultation, design, implementation, documentation, and most importantly, support, which is offered 24/7 via online chat and email. One thing to highlight is that support is only offered for cases outlined in the contract, not on-demand. This ensures that by continuously maintaining a business’s IT infrastructure, we aim to prevent problems before they disrupt operations.

Techi focuses on what the business we collaborate with needs, and keeping this in mind, we are able to offer our clients customized and effective solutions for their businesses.

Information security is also very important, both within the network and among staff. For this, there are several regulatory policies, and of course, the creation of an IT security plan tailored to the business’s goals and objectives.

How did you respond to the challenges of 2020?

It was certainly a challenging year for all of us. We had just entered our third year of operation. However, together with the staff, we decided to assist our most vulnerable partner businesses during this difficult time. Our support would continue until the government officially announced the easing of measures, meaning those businesses would not be charged by us.

Many clients were supported with the initiative of working from home through IT infrastructure. This helped increase trust in Techi as an effective external IT department. Of course, it was a time when people were emotionally involved and unsure of the direction to take for their businesses. For us, this situation brought many new clients who chose to move their business operations online, using various platforms, video conferencing, etc.

What are the advantages of systems, and how important is support?

A company managed with the right systems is more likely to have market stability, as it allows employees to work more organized and gives managers easy access to centralized information.

Since we live in a digital age where everything runs on systems, computers, printers, etc., IT support is crucial for business. An unresolved problem creates obstacles in the smooth running of work. Therefore, with 24/7 online support, our clients get solutions quickly and can continue their work uninterrupted.

Techi is close to launching an online shop to assist anyone with daily IT issues, from purchasing and installing a program to various computer configurations. Techi’s goal is to expand its activities, perhaps even beyond Albania.

One very important thing is that anyone can become a part of Techi through our Affiliate initiative. This initiative allows anyone to become a collaborator to promote Techi’s services, either full-time or part-time, without interfering with their daily work and allowing them to earn more through the commissions we offer.
